Christy and Josiah at Hilton Head

Please share...

What a wonderful trip to Hilton Head, South Carolina we had! I just got back and read a book by Marilyn Sholin called The Art of Digital Photo Painting. Chapter 4 was on portraits and it inspired my to give digital painting another try! I did this portrait of my daughter Christy and grandson Josiah. I’m very excited about the possibilities. I have an Epson 3800 printer and will print this at 12″x15″ on canvas. Painted with Painter X using primarily the techniques found on pages 59 through 61 of Marilyn’s book.

Abigail Black and White Print (8×10)

Please share...

I did this from a picture of myself and my granddaughter Abigail. She was just a little part of the photograph and it was taken far away. I “cut” her out and enhanced her with Photoshop CS4, added a density filter and painted out unwanted background to make this sweet portrait of her.
